Spinal Decompression Therapy SpineMED® Decompression The most sophisticated non-surgical, FDA Certified procedure for lumbar and cervical disc injuries and disc degeneration. Previous conservative modalities have provided only temporary relief to the majority of patients. As a last resort, patients turn to costly and painful surgery to treat their back pain. However, surgery which is only approximately 47% successful may not provide the long-term solution sought after by patients. Furthermore, a patient must consider the inherent risks of undergoing any surgical procedure. SpineMED Decompression is unlike any other spinal decompression system The SpineMED® Spinal Decompression Table has taken decompression technology to the next level. Unlike other "Decompression Tables", the SpineMED® does not employ antiquated traction components such as a traction box, pulleys, drums, ropes and pelvic harnesses. The SpineMED® captures and distracts the human skeletal structure through a unique & proprietary design that is not found on any other distraction (or decompression) device in the world. Lumbar Decompression The SpineMED® table is very comfortable. The Pelvic Restraints comfortably secure your pelvis directly to the table therefore reducing the force needed to distract and decompress the spine, which in turn eliminates any unneeded discomfort or side effects. Typical procedure tensions required on the SpineMED® are approximately 60% of what would be prescribed on other decompression tables. The pelvic section of the SpineMED® also pivots to tilt your pelvis between zero and twenty-five degrees to specifically treat only the disc that has been injured. The application and control of the forces being applied to your spine is managed through a proprietary electronic system developed by CERT Health Sciences, LLC. This electronic control system employs the latest in computer technology to achieve precision unattainable on any other decompression table. The computer constantly monitors your progress and senses problems such as a muscle spasm. If a muscle spasm is sensed, the computer immediately reduces tension therefore preventing any type of muscle pain or strain while undergoing decompression. The SpineMED® system is very versatile. The unique Pelvic Restraints are extensively adjustable so that virtually ANY size patient can be comfortably accommodated on the table. Cervical Decompression The SpineMED® cervical procedure is similar to the lumbar procedure in that the spine is tilted between 0 and 30-degrees to treat only the damaged disc. The tension used is greatly reduced but is monitored in the same way as the lumbar procedure. The most important part of the SpineMED® cervical decompression system is the way in which your head and neck are secured to the table. Your neck is gently cradled by two gel pad covered brackets that lay right behind your head. There are no harnesses applied and there is absolutely no pressure exerted on your jaw or cheeks therefore not affecting the TMJ. |
